Scientific laboratories are usually distinguished by the discipline of science, such as physics laboratory, chemistry, biochemistry, computer and language laboratories. (Wikipedia, 2007). Laboratory work (lab) is the most important part of learning chemistry (chemistry instruction). In the hands of a good teacher, the learning will provide:
1.Overview of real science (not a clone)
2.Intelligence precise and careful attention to plan and make observations in interpreting and abstraction.
3.liked most students, since it can integrate with the cognitive activity in handwork orient concrete operations. Practicum drive change from classroom to other forms of learning.

Lab is a busy place for learning activities, and time-consuming students, has the burden of mental, emotional, and physical from the teacher. Practicum is also a must if the soul (spirit) science will be invested in the younger generation, and will develop self-learning ability.
At SPTK-211 proposed to apply the laboratory is a scientific theory, the theoretical testing, verification testing, research, dam so on. Tools become completeness and facilities with sufficient quantity and quality (MONE, 2002)
`In the laboratory school in an educational context has a function as a learning process with a method that could provide learning experiences for students to interact with the tools and materials and observing various symptoms directly. Practicum will give a very big role, especially in:

1. Build understanding of the concept;
2. verify the (verification) concept of truth;
3. Growing process skills (scientific work) and affective student;
4. Growing "liking" and motivation to lessons learned;
5. Train psychomotor abilities;

Laboratory activities / lab will be able to improve their academic, social, and vocational. Quote by DePorter, et al, translated by Nilandri (2000) said "We learn". 10% of what we read, 20% of what we hear, 30% of what we see, 50% of what we see and hear,70% of what we say, 90% of what we say and do.
